Standard widths 12/19/25 mm, thicknesses 0.075-0.2 mm, roll lengths 5-30 m. Available in standard density for general plumbing and high density for gas lines and hydraulic fittings. Temperature range -200°C to +260°C, gas pressure up to 20 bar, liquid up to 100 bar. Colour-coded options for gas (yellow), drinking water (green) and food-grade (pink) service. PTFE Tape — 100% Virgin PTFE for Leak-Tight Pipe Threads

Kaxite PTFE Tape is a thin, unsintered 100% virgin PTFE film wrapped around pipe threads to seal water, gas, hydraulic and pneumatic connections. Its extremely low friction coefficient lubricates the threads during tightening and fills the microscopic gaps between mating threads — no sealant paste, no contamination, no torque over-application.

Manufactured in Ningbo, China by Kaxite Sealing. Available in standard and high density grades, widths 12/19/25 mm, roll lengths 5-30 m, and six colour codes for application identification. OEM/ODM private-label packaging supported.

Thicker, firmer and denser — more PTFE per metre. Resists shredding on sharp or stainless threads, holds a stable seal under higher pressure and is the grade specified for gas and hydraulic service.

Installation

How to wrap PTFE tape — 4 steps

Clean the threads

Remove old tape, sealant paste, oil and debris. Dry the male and female threads completely.

Wrap in the thread direction

Wrap clockwise (viewed from the thread end) so the tape tightens rather than unwraps during assembly.

Apply 2–5 wraps

Start 1–2 threads back from the pipe end. Use 2–3 wraps for water, 4–5 wraps for gas and hydraulic service.

Tighten by hand, then wrench

Hand-tighten the fitting, then complete with a wrench. Do not over-torque — PTFE tape already lubricates the joint.

What is PTFE thread seal tape?

PTFE thread seal tape — also called plumber's tape, Teflon tape or TFP tape — is a thin, unsintered 100% virgin PTFE film wrapped around the threads of pipe fittings before assembly. Its extremely low friction coefficient lubricates the threads during tightening and fills the microscopic gaps between mating threads, creating a leak-tight seal in water, gas, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

What is the difference between standard density and high density PTFE tape?

Standard density (0.25-0.4 g/cm³) is the everyday plumbing grade — thin, soft, easy to wrap, best for water and general low-pressure applications. High density (0.8-1.5 g/cm³) is thicker and firmer with more PTFE per metre. It resists being shredded on sharp threads, holds up under higher pressure, and is the grade specified for gas lines, hydraulic fittings and stainless steel or galvanised threads.

What do the different tape colours mean?

Colour is a visual code for the application, though the base material is the same. White = general plumbing and water. Yellow = gas lines (natural gas, LPG, propane). Green = drinking water (NSF-61 approved) and oxygen-clean service. Pink = food-grade applications. Copper = high-temperature service. Black = general industrial. Always confirm the colour code required by local plumbing or gas regulations.

Which direction should PTFE tape be wrapped?

Wrap the tape in the same direction as the threads — clockwise when viewed from the end of the male thread. If you wrap against the thread direction, the tape will unwrap as the fitting is tightened and the joint will leak. Start 1-2 threads back from the pipe end, apply 2-3 wraps for water service or 4-5 wraps for gas and hydraulic service, and press the tape into the threads as you go.

Is PTFE tape FDA, NSF-61 or WRAS approved?

Yes, on request. Our PTFE tape is available in FDA 21 CFR 177.1550 compliant grades for food-contact service, NSF-61 and WRAS approved grades for drinking water, and DVGW approved grades for gas service. Standard industrial grades carry RoHS and REACH compliance. Please specify the required certification with your inquiry — different approvals use different grades of PTFE resin.

What is the MOQ, lead time and sample policy?
