Kaxite Expanded PTFE Joint Sealant Tape is a 100% expanded PTFE gasket material with a self-adhesive strip on one face. It is applied as a Form-In-Place gasket: peel off the backing, press the tape onto the sealing face, and cross the two ends. The tape becomes a sealing gasket exactly where it is needed.
The material conforms to rough, pitted, scratched and damaged flange surfaces — as well as glass-lined, enamel and unusual geometry — that a pre-cut gasket cannot bridge. It is made without fillers or binders, so it has the same chemical inertness as pure virgin PTFE, and it resists creep and cold flow over long service periods.
Expanded PTFE Joint Sealant Tape is a 100% expanded PTFE gasket material combined with a self-adhesive strip on one face. It can be used as a jointing on all types of flanges and is compatible with almost all fluids because of its excellent corrosion resistance and high pressure resistance. The material is soft, stretched and easy to use — the tape is stuck onto the sealing face with the adhesive side, then the two ends are crossed together to form a complete sealing ring. This is why it is the ideal sealing material for enamel, glass-lined, rough and specially shaped sealing surfaces.
The braided-fibril structure of the expanded PTFE is what gives the tape its conformability. Under bolt load the tape compresses into the pits and scratches of the flange face and stays there, sealing where a rigid gasket would leak. The self-adhesive backing holds the tape in position during assembly on both horizontal and vertical flanges without clamps or additional adhesive.

Remove old gasket residue, oil and loose scale so the adhesive can bond. No primer required.
Peel off the backing and press the tape onto the sealing face along the bolt circle or flange contour.
Bring the two ends together and overlap them — the joint area densifies under bolt load.
Assemble the flange and torque bolts in a cross pattern. Tape compresses into the flange pits to form the seal.
